Beginning today, the public water filling station located at the entry to Pāpa’aloa Park will be temporarily closed for approximately four weeks.
The closure allows for the reconstruction of parking stalls and accessible walkways fronting the water spigots as part of the park’s ADA-compliance improvements.
People that rely on this water source are advised to plan accordingly and are encouraged to reference the Department of Water Supply’s website for alternative water filling stations on the island.
The Department of Parks and Recreation anticipates another temporary closure in December 2022 to allow for the paving of the driveway and the application of parking stall striping and pavement markings. The future closure will likely span 2-3 weeks. A public notice will be issued at a later date when that work is scheduled.
