Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of October 31

The Department of Transportation has announced a number of lane closures throughout Hawaiʻi Island during the week of October 31, 2022. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. Below is a detailed list of scheduled roadwork and maintenance:

VOLCANO ROAD/MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 51 and 53, vicinity of Kamani Street and Kaalaiki Road, on Monday, Oct. 31, through Friday, Nov4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 95 and 97, vicinity of Kukui O Pae Place and Haleili Street, on Monday, Oct. 31, through Friday, Nov4, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for vegetation cutting.

 KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

HONALO

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 113.9 and 114, vicinity of Honalo Road, on Monday, Oct. 31, through Friday, Nov4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Kuakini Drainage Improvements.

 

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

PAPAIKOU

Shoulder closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in the northbound direction between mile markers 6.25 and 6.35, Kapue Street and Road G, Monday, Oct. 31, and Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for installation of a new waterline.

HONOMU TO HAKALAU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 11 and 15, vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Road/Airstrip Road and vicinity of Chin Chuck Road, Saturday, Oct. 29and Sunday, Oct. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 14.2 and 14.3, vicinity of Kolekole Stream, on Saturday, Oct. 29, through Friday, Nov4, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for bridge work.

HAKALAU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

OOKALA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 28 and 29, vicinity of Stevens Road and Moonlight Road, Saturday, Oct. 29, through Friday, Nov4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

 

KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD/ PAHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

KEAAU

Single lane closure on Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 1 and 3, vicinity of Milo Street and vicinity of Waipahoehoe Bridge, Monday, Oct. 31through Friday, Nov. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

PAHOA

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 11 and 13Kahakai Boulevard and Makoi Road, Monday, Oct. 31, through Friday, Nov4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD/HAWI ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

HAWI

Single lane closure on Hawi Road (Route 250) possible in either direction at mile marker 19, Banana Ranch Road and Hawi Road, Monday, Oct. 31, through Friday, Nov. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
