The 2023 VinFast Ironman World Championships will be held in duel cities.
The women’s race is scheduled to take place in Kailua-Kona on October 14, 2023 while the men’s race will be held at a location outside of Hawaiʻi on a different date. At this point the second location has not been disclosed. In 2024, the men and women would swap locations and the men’s race would return to Hawaiʻi Island.
The decision comes following this year’s Ironman which was the first to be conducted over two days.
“IRONMAN and the County of Hawaiʻi concluded together that the impact of two days of racing in Kona is not currently in the best interest of the local community,” the organization said, in a press release.
