Beginning today, DPW will be closing the makai lane on Aliʻi Drive for road repairs as a result of changing sea levels and tidal impacts that have caused deterioration beneath the roadway and sidewalk. The work is scheduled to be completed by February 24, 2023.
Local traffic will be allowed from Palani Road to the area near the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel. The community can access Aliʻi Drive through the designated detour on Hualālai Road. The northbound lane on Aliʻi Drive will remain open during constructio.
