Hawai‘i Island police arrested 44-year-old Jacob Walter Umemoto following a reported domestic-related incident that occurred in Hilo on December 9.
Hilo patrol officers responded to an apartment complex on Waianuenue Avenue after a 17-year-old reported that she had been involved in a violent altercation with her father, Umemoto. The teen did not require medical attention.
On Saturday December 10 Umemoto was arrested without incident at a residence on Hookina Place.
The Area I Juvenile Aid Section is continuing to investigate the incident.
