New CEO Named for Kona Community and Kohala Hospitals

The HHSC West Hawaiʻi Regional Board of Directors named Clayton McGhan, MHA the new Regional Chief Executive Officer.
Although McGhan has been in the interim role of CEO for the West Hawaiʻi Region (WHR) since May 2022, he was permanently appointed into the position on December 9.
McGhan recently served as the President and CEO of Aliʻi Health Center while concurrently serving as Interim Director of the Kona Ambulatory Surgery Center. Prior to that, he held the position of Operations Director at Alii Health Center. McGhan earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration and a master’s degree in healthcare administration and management, both from Grand Canyon University. Currently, he is working toward a board certification with the American College of Healthcare Executives. He was recently recognized by “Irish 40 under 40,” a celebration of Irish and Irish Americans who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields of work before reaching the age of 40. He sits on the Board of Directors of the KonaKohala Chamber of Commerce. In his free time, McGhan enjoys spending time at the beach with his wife and five children, woodworking, fishing, and playing music.
