Police Seeking Person of Interest in Kona Assault Investigation

Hawai‘i Island police are requesting public assistance in identifying a man who is a person of interest in a Kailua Kona beach assault investigation.
 
On the evening of Saturday, May 6, it was reported that an unidentified male assaulted a patron at a beach near Hulikoa Street.
The man, who was captured on a video recording that documented a portion of the incident, is described as possibly being in his late 30s or early 40s, having a thin build and a light brown complexion, with a tattoo on his right shoulder that resembles scales. He was last seen wearing black shorts and no shirt.
