Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of June 19

The Department of Transportation announced a number of Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 19, 2023. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting.

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 PAPAIKOU

Single lane closure possible in either direction at Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) and Old Mamalahoa Highway on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the installation of a raised crosswalk

PAPAIKOU

Shoulder closure in both directions at Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) and Alakahi Place on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of a temperature sensor.

HONOKAA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction at Kalopa Road on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. HECO will be replacing substandard utility poles and restringing overhead lines.

CAPTAIN COOK

Sidewalk closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11), at MTA West Hawaii Bus Stop and Arthur L. Greenwell Park on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for A.D.A. improvements.

Sidewalk closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11), at MTA West Hawaii Bus Stop and Konawaena Elementary School on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for A.D.A. improvements

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

 KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route250) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 11, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstruction of a weakened shoulder.

PAHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

PAHOA

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 11, at the intersection of Pahoa Bypass Road and Post Office Road, on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of a raised crosswalk.

MAMALOHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction at mile marker 33, between Hawaii Belt Road and Loloa Drive on Tuesday, June 20, through Friday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Department of Water Supply utility work.

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 17 and 26, in the vicinity of Puu Lani Drive Monday, June 20, through Friday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety improvements and installation of shoulder extension.

 

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250)

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route250) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 11, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road on Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstruction of a weakened shoulder.
