Ocean View Man Arrested and Charged for Attempted Murder

32-year-old Kekoa Duguran of Ocean View was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder and other offenses following a recent incident in South Kona.
On July 18, Kona patrol officers arrived at Kona Community Hospital after receiving a report of stab victim and discovered a 39 year-old male with wounds on his neck and face.
 
In the course of their investigation, police determined that a man, later identified as Duguran, attacked the victim with a knife while seated in the rear seat of a vehicle. The victim, who was driving, began wrestling with Duguran and was able to take the knife away and exit. He then summoned the help of a nearby resident who took the him to the hospital where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.
 
On July 20, Police located Duguran in Ocean View where he was subsequently arrested and transported to the Kealakehe Police Station. 
 
After conferring with the County Prosecutor’s Office detectives charged Duguran, with the following offenses. His bail was set at $100,000.

  • Second-degree attempted murder
  • First-degree terroristic threatening
  • Second-degree burglary

Duguran is currently being held at the Kealakehe Police Station pending his initial court appearance this morning,
