Hawaiʻi Island Fentanyl Task Force Announces Walk to Prevent Addiction & Overdose

On Saturday, September 30, the Hawaiʻi Island Fentanyl Task Force will host a walk to raise awareness and remember those whose lives have been impacted by Fentanyl.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention*, Hawaiʻi County had forty drug overdose deaths in 2022, more than doubling the number in two years.
The walk is free and open to all ages. Registration will take place near the Hilo Bay Café and the Lihiwai Street – Banyan Drive intersection at 8am, with the event beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Prevention resources will be available as well as live music.
