Hawai‘i Island police initiated a first-degree terroristic threatening investigation after being informed of an anonymous threat towards Kea’au Middle School.
On Monday, Puna patrol officers received a call from a school official reporting that a concerned parent had informed them of a threatening social media message from an unknown person.
Although the identification of the suspect and origin of the message had not been determined, HPD had an increased presence at the school yesterday.
The case is being investigated by Area I Juvenile Aid Section detectives.
