Coast Guard, Hawaiʻi Life Flight transports patient to Honolulu

The Coast Guard assisted Hawaii Life Flight with a non-maritime emergency medical service transport from Hilo yesterday.

Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu watchstanders received a notification early Monday from the Hawaiʻi Department of Health requesting a non-maritime emergency medical service transport for a 47-year-old man with a pelvic fracture, from Hilo to Honolulu.

An HC-130 Hercules airplane crew from Air Station Barbers Point, along with a Hawaiʻi Life Flight medical team, transported the patient to Barbers Point where they were then transferred to EMS for further transport to The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
