Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of June 16

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 16, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  All projects are weather permitting.

VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11) 

KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 9.7 to 10.2, in the vicinity of Huina Road and Ualani Road on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for waterline tie in.

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 45 to 47, in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

 

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 100.1 to 100.8, in the vicinity of Hookena Beach Road, on Wednesday, June 18 to Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for pavement repairs.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 108 to 110, in the vicinity of Government Main Road and Napoopoo Road, on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mowing and shoulder work.

KAMEHAMEHA AVENUE (ROUTE 19) 

 

HILO

Pocket closure on Kamehameha Avenue (Route 19) possible in either direction at mile post 1.5, vicinity of Bishop Street, on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for maintaining pocket lane markings and island markings.

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 18 to 21, in the vicinity of Kaihuiki, Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 28 to 29 on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for bridge maintenance.

PAAUILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 34 to 36, in the vicinity of Mauna Kea Ranch Road and Government Road on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. tree trimming and shoulder work.

KEAAU PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

PAHOA

Single lane closure on Keaau Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 3 to 4, in the vicinity of Shower Drive, on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving and striping.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. striping and installing new raised pavement markers.

 

HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. for installation of asphalt curbs.
