The Department of Environmental Management is temporarily closing the Keaʻau Transfer Station for paving work today.
During the temporary closure, residents are encouraged to use nearby transfer stations:
- Hilo Transfer Station, open daily 6 a.m.-6 p.m. (1471 Ho‘olaulima Road)
- Pāhoa Transfer Station, open daily 6 a.m.-6 p.m. (15-1870 Cemetery Road)
The facility is scheduled to reopen tomorrow.
