Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of November 10

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of November 10, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  . There will be no lane closures on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday, unless permitted. All projects are weather permitting

KANOELEHUA AVENUE  (ROUTE 11) 

 

 HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 3, in the vicinity of Kamehameha Avenue and East Palai Street,  from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mulching, shoulder work and mechanical mowing.

 

VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11) 

VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 27 to 30, in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Crater Rim Drive, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for HELCO installing new powerline poles.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 56 to 58, on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

NAALEHU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 63 to 63.5, in the vicinity Ohai Road, on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for water utility work.

PAPA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 85 to 96, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kaohe Road, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strips, new striping, and pavement markers.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 100 to 101, in the vicinity of Hookena Beach Road, from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming.

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 

HILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 2.7 to 5, in the vicinity of Pukihae Street and Kahoa Place, on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

 

PAPAIKOU TO PEPEEKEO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6 to 10, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kulaimano Road, on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for grading and shoulder work

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 56.5 to 56.7, in the vicinity of Pukalani Road and Lindsey Road, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of new traffic signals.

 

KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 58 to 60, in the vicinity of Ko Uka Street and Ohina Street, on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing new traffic signal lights.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing striping, lane lines, turn pockets and direction arrows.

PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping, installing new raised pavement markers and traffic signal loops.
