South Kohala patrol officer Travis Wong was named Officer of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2025 by the Hawai‘i Island Safety and Security Professionals Association (HISSPA).
A seven-year veteran of the department, Wong was recognized for his proactive enforcement efforts and commitment to the safety of the South Kohala community.
Since the beginning of 2025, Wong has played a significant role in improving roadway safety throughout the district. Through proactive enforcement, he has issued 556 traffic citations, helping increase compliance with traffic laws and reduce roadway hazards for residents and visitors
In addition to traffic enforcement, Wong’s work has resulted in 10 arrests, including one for driving under the influence, while also investigating 190 reported incidents.
