133 new COVID cases in state–Big Isle has 13 new

The State Department of Health is reporting 133 new cases of COVID-19 in the state. That number reflects data from Thursday, Dec. 3. The State DOH now reports number two days in arrears. The total count of COVID-19 cases for the state is now 18,423. There have been 1,258 new cases in the past 14 days.

O’ahu has 82 new cases, and there are 15 new cases on Maui, 22 new in Hawaii residents who are out of state, and 1 new on Moloka’i.  There are no new cases on Lana’i nor Kaua’i.

Hawaii County has added 13 new cases, according to the State Department of Health figures. The Hawaii County total is now 1,613 cases of COVID-19. The Big Island has added 109 new cases in the past 14 days.  Hawaii County Civil Defense says the bulk of the cases are community spread, not travel-related.

The state has confirmed 261 deaths from COVID-19, which includes 43 of the Big Island’s 49 deaths. Hawaii County Civil Defense says there two people on the island with COVID-19 in a hospital.
