Growing COVID-19 Numbers Worldwide and Locally

(Update) Here are the latest worldwide and local COVID-19 statistics.

Data from The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Dashboard  for Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, as of 5:00 a.m. shows the number of Global COVID-19 cases is now 85,229,48, up one million since Friday Jan 1.  The Global number of COVID-19 deaths is now at 1,845,408.

In the U.S., COVID-19 cases are currently at 20, 640,214.  U.S. COVID- 19 deaths are up to 351, 590.

According to the Covid Tracking Project, the data for the State of Hawaiʻi is as follows:  Hawaiʻi total cases: 22,438 – Current Hawaiʻi Hospitalizations: 86, a decrease by 9 since Friday, January 1.  The total number of COVD-19 deaths in Hawaiiʻ is 289.

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reports 4 new cases of Coronavirus on Hawaiʻi Island with 3 persons hospitalized.  There have been no deaths reported in the last week.
