The Hawai‘i County Police Department called last month’s “Cop on Top” fundraiser a success.
The event, which benefits Special Olympics Hawaiʻi, raised a total of $44,000. $23,000 for east Hawaii and $21,000 for west Hawaiʻi
This year marked the 19th installment of the multi-day event where law enforcement officers stay perched on top of a 15-foot scaffolding at the east and west Hawai‘i Walmart locations, eating, sleeping while raising awareness for Special Olympics Hawai‘i.
