Island Conversations #36–Little Fire Ants

Little fire ants!  EEEK!  They’re on the Big Island, more on the East side, spreading to the West, East, and North, generally not so much above 3,000 feet, but actually–can be everywhere!  Cas Vanderwoude is with the Hawaii Ant Lab in Hilo (which now has an adjunct location at the College of Tropical Agriculture Extension Office in Kainaliu) and Franny Brewer of the Big Island Invasive Species Committee talked with host Sherry Bracken about the ants, their impact, where they are, where they’re spreading, how to detect, how to treat.

Air Date:  Oct. 13, 2019
