Island Conversations #19–Miracle at Sea, Part 1

On July 14, 2016, pilots Sydnie Uemoto and David McMahon–both Mokulele Airlines pilots but flying a small private plane–had complete engine failure and put the plane down in 4 to 7 foot seas, 25 miles off the Kona Coast.  They got out of the plane and watched it sink.   After 20 hours swimming towards Kona, they were finally rescued.  This is Part 1 of a very dramatic, and very emotional conversation, first recorded in early 2017. Air date:  July 14, 2019
